It’s a big day of announcements around here, so let’s just get right to it.
There was such a great turn out for the just for fun {summer} giveaway – thank you to everyone who entered! I wish I could send you all a fancy package, but there was only one big winner this time around and she is …![]()

Each month I’ll host another giveaway featuring some of my favorite things. The best part? If you are already a subscriber, you are automatically entered each month.

Wow Emily! I can’t believe you’ve made this great announcement today. I’ve been waiting to get my blog started and have been talking about starting up my own business for such a long time now. There just seems to always be something else that needs my time and attention so I keep putting it off. Well, today I decided that I was going to start my blog and put my plans into motion for my business. Then, as I was sitting here at my computer wondering where I should start, I thought I’d read your blog for a little inspiration – and there you were with your announcement. It was meant to be! So, I look forward to joining you in September and can’t wait to see where it takes me! Thank you! Monique x

I am so in love with the give away for September!!

I’ve been thinking, and for some crazy reason I don’t think I’ve ever commented here! Oh my goodness! I started reading your blog when the nester featured you a while back, and you have very quickly become one of my favorites! I think I’ve gone back and looked at every one of your past posts. You have a beautiful home, adorable children, are amazingly creative…you have the kind of look I really try to achieve in my own little house, and you just really inspire me in lots of ways:)
I’m quite excited to learn all about this little workshop…I have also always had a secret dream to stay home and do something creative that I love like you are so lucky to do. I’m already signed up for the “early bird,” so thanks in advance because I know its going to be great!
ps-sorry for such a long comment, and please don’t think I’m too terribly weird for being so in love with everything you do. haha:)

I’m so excited about your creative small business workshop. I started my own business several years ago and continue to crave ideas and inspiration. Below is a quote I have carried with me for years. I never tire of reading it and it continues to reaffirm my passion for my creative life. “If you have passion for what you do, the company you keep, the life you live, it will be reflected in whatever you create. Passion is like that; it springs out, jumps, unpredictable and unplanned, into every thing we touch. If it doesn’t, others know. Passion can’t be faked and it can’t be manufactured. Which is why it is so priceless.

Howdy. Thanks so much for the opportunity to be a part of your giveaways. So I am already entered for the Sept. giveaway, but I was wondering if we get extra submissions to the giveaway like the summer one: by posting on our blog, facebook, and adding a button to our blog?
Thanks again and God Bless!

You totally rock, Emily. I am inspired by your site every day. The beauty of your blog alone is an inspiration to the designer in me.

chasity
what a fantastic workshop and a terrific givaway!!
Liz
Emily, how fun! I just recently discovered your blog and will echo what the other commenters have already mentioned–a beautiful blog, home, and family brimming with creativity and love! And thank you for offering giveaways it is so very generous of you.
Your workshop sounds exciting (although I’ve never harbored small business dreams)…I admire your work and might perhaps try the book pages canvas. However, I lack the “crafting gene” so we shall see how it goes! Perhaps in the future you can have an event for Crafting Virgins–those of us who were not taught how to sew/stamp/scrapbook/knit when we were younger and who would like to learn now (so that my little girl grows up in a creative and homemade space) but who are too intimidated by the language, materials, and seemingly perfect crafts that everyone else is putting out there. Thanks for all that you do!

God gave me a creative heart but to feel confident is another thing! i cant wait for september 16th! i love this idea and want to say thanks for doing it! xo
Kara
This is exactly what I need. I cannot wait for Sept. 16th. A career change, much like yours, has been heavy on my heart recently. I was so inspired by yesterday’s little post, I have been thinking about it since I read it. Today is the day I start making moves in my life… I will be gathering materials between now and the 16th so I can put your advice and tools to use right away. Thanks Emily!
joyce
What a great opportunity! Thank you for being so generous with your time and your gifts!
Jolie
I just discovered your blog over the weekend – what a treasure trove! I love your style and your inspiring words…can’t wait to see what your workshop offers. Thanks for being such a generous soul!
Jen
You should turn the “Be Inspired” series into a book!
emily
Wow, ladies, you all make me smile! I’m so glad these announcements spoke to you. I’ve already seen so many great questions from everyone who signed up for early bird list. I am working on the workshop as we speak and very excited to share with you everything that’s going into this event.
There is a tuition because of all the practical, fun, and inspiring content, but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how affordable it is and how much you’ll learn. If you’re able to put even just a few of the ideas to work the workshop will practically pay for itself in new sales, creative ideas, and time saving tips.
More details are on the way soon!
Susan
I’m glad I live in seattle too! These are right up my alley!
Angie
Emily
I am so inspired by your blog and all that you have accomplished in the last 7 years. I would love to attend your workshop. What time do you plan to have it on the 16th?
Ale
I just have to say that I’m really excited I came across your site a couple of weeks ago, you really inspire me on keep on doing my crafting and see that there is a way to make it a business and also help with the family finances.
And your family is so beautiful I can only dream of having such luck of being able to manage both things like you do now that we are planing on growing our own.
I’m really looking forward on learning so much from the workshop since I really can’t seem to manage my time and accomplish all the things I want, I really hope you mention how you resolve that issue, have you always been so organized with your time?
I’m so excited!!
Londen
I’m back checking out your office again and I found this post. I am excited to be part of your workshop! I’m in the slow process of starting my own business making over vintage and antique furniture.
Thanks!

I am looking through your past posts and I came across this one. Are you planning on doing another create your own business workshop? I would be interested in attending. It looks like you live in Seattle too, so I’m pretty close and would be able to attend.
I too am a mother who is dying to stay home with my baby girl and still be able to bring in an income. Right now we are currently both working full time and I only get to see my baby girl at night and its killing me. I am a creative soul that never gets time to create because of my work schedule. Your blog is really my only creative outlet that I have time for. I would love to do somethign I love. So please say yes.
Kayla
Hi! I just recently (this month) discovered the world of crafting blogs and I LOVE your website! I have learned so much and am working on my own new blog. My husband is in the Navy and we are planning on starting a family soon. When we first got married I had dreamed of creating my own website and selling stationary/invitations and putting my Bachelors in Art (Computer art specifically) to some good use when we start a family (which is hopefully just around the corner). The only problem is that I have NO idea where to get started. I so wish I would have discovered your website sooner so I could have participated in your online course but I REALLY hope you decide to do another one! I’m sure Nikki and I are not the only ones. Please help us out!
Kayla
PS. I also live in the Seattle area! Just a ferry ride away!
Courtney radke
Oh my! Am I the “Courtney” the adorable print?!
Courtney radke
Ummm…this is embarrasing. Its not me. Congrats to the other Courtney.
