edie’s house {i spy a jdc print too!}

Have you seen Edie’s amazing home in the latest issue of Better Homes & Gardens?

I just adore everything about Miss Edie – from her southern charm to her spiritual thirst and book-loving wisdom. Plus, she has a pretty incredible story. When I found out that the talented Darlene was helping Edie redesign her new home, I knew it would be incredible. Just look at the design boards:

She has such a cool whimsical, colorful, cottagy-chic style. I have never met Edie, but she’s been a kind supporter of JDC and I am a happy reader of her blog. Hopefully we’ll meet up this fall {more to come on that}.

When my january bh&g issue came in the mail I was so excited to see a house I ‘knew’ in a real magazine.

So great, right?! Makes me want to add more pattern to our home and paint our bedroom a dark sultry color.

I was delighted and flattered when I noticed this:

How fun is that? One of my prints in a magazine home!

    I was drawn to this lovely home when I received the latest BHG issue. It’s gorgeous. If Edie reads this, would you be so kind to tell me the source/brand of your blue and white striped living room rug? I recall looking in the source section at the back of the magazine and didn’t see it listed… Thank you!

    Do you know what program she uses for her design boards? I make them as well, but am not able to do 3D and stack things in front of each other! All looks amazing!

    Congrats on having your print in the magazine! I’ve had my eye on that one for a while and finally purchased it a few days ago. I really love your work and even included your Isaiah printable in my decorations this past Christmas.

    OH, sweet Emily, what an awesome surprise—to be here on your lovely blog:))) Thank you so much. And someone beat me to it but there’s another JDC print on my gallery wall behind the sofa. I love that my house if full of the creativity and inspiration of so many of my blogland friends. You inspire me so much and I use your ‘work’ all the time in our home, whether it’s the monthly printables or prints or just wonderful ideas. Much love to you and yours in the year. And I’m SOOOO excited to be meeting you this fall.

    Such a great gal, and so deserving right? I dont read her blog very often, but have come across it a couple of times. I lost my house to a fire in ’03, so when i read her story I could totally relate. So cool to see your print on her shelf, congratulations. I just bought that headboard she has in her bedroom for my daughter for Christmas, it is even more gorgeous in person. Happy New Year!

    on the gallery wall of Edie’s too didn’t you? Congrats girl…

    I LOVE her home and blog too! You two remind me of each other, actually (at least from what I read on the blogs :) ). You have the same gorgeous home and unique style and pair that with some spiritual wisdom and kindness on your blog – that’s a perfect pairing to me!
