ballard designs

Typically Ballard Designs is a bit French Country for me, but as I was flipping through their latest catalog, I was pleasantly surprised at how they have expanded their style to include more cottage/industrial/classic/neutral pieces into their collection.

Like these mirrors, for instance.  Both would be so pretty in a powder room.

And these light fixtures are the perfect blend of industrial & cottage.

Pretty mirror & shelf designed by Suzanne Kasler.

I think this coat rack would be so cool in an entry or as a fixture in a shop. Can’t you just see little girl’s dresses hanging from it?

This vintage bottle rack-inspired christmas tree could make an interesting display piece. And I’m always a fan of chunky baskets.

I love my black & white striped rug from IKEA {shown below}

but I’ve heard they are hard to come by lately : a good alternative could be this one from Ballard – plus it is an outdoor rug so you could just hose it off when it gets dirty.  Genius.

    Hobby Lobby has a Ballard starburst mirror knockoff. Bought mine for $25 on sale! Southern Living often has Ballard discount coupons %20 off in their magazines.

    I’ve never yet taken the plunge and ordered anything from Ballard, but I get their Weekly Special emails and they never fail to tempt me at least a little. Currently have their braided jute rug for my entry in my cart, but thinking surely I could get one cheaper somewhere else?? Hmmm. Glad for the tip about calling the outlets!

    I was super impressed with the catalog as well. Just the prices are a little steep for my budget. A girl can dream!

    I love Ballard b/c I can steal their ideas and make my own- for LOTS cheaper. LOL They do have some fun stuff-not too sure about their quality- I heard some of their furniture is actually particle board. sad :-( BUT the Christmas catalog just came in the mail the other day- OH MY gosh! Its a keeper!! lots of fun ideas.

    I agree wholeheartedly about Ballard Design! They’ve really come a long way in the last few seasons.

    Updated our entry way with their cute Carriage House Chandelier, it’s the perfect size!

    Another Ballard tip – so many of their fabrics sold by the yard are actually Waverly fabrics. Many of their light fixtures are Murray-Feiss (not sure about the ones you showed), with a little searching you can find their things a lot cheaper online from other sources (sorry, Ballard)

    I’ve had my eye on the shell inspired mirror for ages, it is gorgeous! Love the striped rug added to the room you show, really adds a great graphic punch! Janell

    I just die over those two mirrors-just gorgeous. One tip for you girls shopping at Ballard- they carry a lot of their current stock for discounted prices at their outlets, so make sure you call an outlet before paying full price for something via the catalog or website :)
