thank you and a good children’s book

Thank you kindly for your words of encouragement yesterday. Sometimes I just need to share my heart {however embarrassingly honest it is} and I love that 1. I receive such wisdom from you sweet ladies and 2. I feel more normal as many of you struggle with the same things.  So thank you.

And have no fear : I am not going anywhere.  Writing this blog is my job, my ministry and one of my favorite hobbies, so I won’t be giving it up anytime soon. Just trying to keep it real.

I will have a real post tomorrow, but for now {while Audrey is sitting in my lap and #3 is waiting not-so-patiently to play Sorry – my worst favorite game to play with kids} I will leave you with a great recommendation for a springtime children’s book.

Bear Wants More is a happy story with delightful illustrations about a hungry bear and his wilderness friends.  My little ones love it {and so do I!}.

There is a whole series of Bear books and I’d like to add them all to our collection.

Enjoy your day : now I’m off for a long game of sorry.

    1. so funny, I just read this to my 4 year old daughter before her nap today (yah, that’s right, she’s 4 and still napping…I definatley count my blessings:) and I was shocked she could finish every line for me. I guess she loves it as much as I do! They’re such sweet books and beautiful illustrations.

    2. Those were my favorite books to read to my son when he was small. Unfortunately, several did not come out until he outgrew them and I had no reason to bring the newer ones home…how disappointing!

    3. We have three bear books and my son (21 mo) LOVES them all. He requests them by snoring for Bear Snores On, Hooing for Bears New Friend, and Ho! Ho! for Bear Stays Up (Yes we do read it year round :)).

    4. I just caught your post from yesterday. Sometimes I feel as though I am in the same place. My family has been going through things, and will continue to be for some time. It’s hard. And it’s nice to know I am not in my boat alone. Thank you Emily. For being a wonderful, honest, talented, creative, and caring, not only to your family, but to your readers. Thank you.

And my little fella and I LOVE the Bear Books

    5. We love this series!
And, I loved your honesty yesterday.
      You are not alone.
I don’t know how you do it with 4 kids…I only have 2 and I feel like life is always a whirlwind.
      Thanks for sharing!

    6. I love Audrey’s flower. It’s so pretty on her. Is it on a hair clip or a barret or something else? I’d love to make one for a couple of friends of mine.

    7. I had to play Sorry with my 4-year-old yesterday. I feel your pain. I just kept reminding myself of all the things he was learning from it. I’m off to read Goodnight Moon and The Very Hungry Caterpillar to my 1-year-old for the 2nd time in the one hour he’s been up.
I think I’ll look into those Bear books when we go to the library today. Thanks for the recommendation!

    8. This is crazy. Just yesterday I was looking around at the Bear books on amazon thinking I should by another for my niece (she’s still in the womb but heck you can’t start reading too young). And then you posted this! I think it’s a sign! Bear it is! (I bought her the Christmas Bear book already – cute!)

    9. We love the Bear books, but haven’t gotten to this one yet – have to get to the library today. And thank you for your post yesterday. It’s exactly where I’m living now – wanting so much to embrace everything creative but with three precious little people at my feet that need that same energy and investment in them. God’s grace is sufficient for my obedience… and much joy in that. Good luck with Sorry. :)
