Happy first day of summer!
We’re just two days into our summer break and so far, so good.
To keep boredom at bay and make sure we make the most of the next eight-ish weeks of summer break, we decided to create a summer bucket list of all the fun things we want to do.
Our big chalkboard has sat chalk-art-less for too long so this was the perfect time to give it a summer-y message. I lettered out the heading, added boxes and the kids will fill in the blanks as they think of things they want to do.
By the way, I love using this mechanical chalk pencil to write on the chalkboard. It is really for making chalk marks on fabric for sewing, but it works great for chalk art, too! For more chalk writing tips, check out this post.
So far on the list we’ve got wakeboarding, making s’mores, hanging out with friends, going to the nail salon with mom. I am going to add book reading goals to each of the kids’ lists because that’s what I want them to do this summer. :)
I love that now the chalkboard has purpose and looks cute for summer!
If you have a spare chalkboard laying around your house, pull it out and jot down your list! Or, feel free to download and print one of these two printable summer bucket lists to fill out with your family. It would even be fun to print out one for each family member and hang them up on the fridge.
The Summer Bucket Lists are found in THE ARCHIVE along with all of our best free prints, templates and fonts. If you are not an Archive member, simply add your email to the list and you’re in.

P.S. I’d love to know what’s on your summer bucket list!
Is that you fiddle leaf in the corner? Mine looks similar. I have used your tips about trimming etc and they sure are temperamental plants. Any further tips?
Love this idea! I’m sure you’ve said this in another post already, but where did you get that enormous chalkboard?! Did you make it?
