Of all the rooms in the house, the family room is where we spend most of our time.
Is it because it is so close to the kitchen? Perhaps.
Or maybe because this is where the tv is? Likely.
But I tend to think it’s the couch that draws us in.
This massive sectional was our first furniture purchase when we moved into this house and we couldn’t be happier with it. We were searching for a big, comfy couch where all six of us could fit to watch movies, read, chill. We wanted something durable and attractive, with down-filled cushions and extra deep seats. This sectional fit every criteria.
There is room for the kids to spread out without touching each other (why is this such a thing for kids?!) and we’ve comfortably sat eight adults for hours on end while binge-watching Hallmark Christmas movies.
That’s basically what the couch looks like on a day-to-day basis: someone lounging, pillows in some sort of disarray. But, hey! That’s exactly what is is for.
The couch is called the Lounge II Sectional from Crate & Barrel. Ours is in the Taft fabric (an in stock choice) in the Cement color. My sister has the same couch in Taft Steel and it is great too.
Crate & Barrel rarely puts their furniture on sale, but this couch (and all upholstered furniture) is currently on sale until September 5th. It’s not the cheapest furniture purchase you’ll make (reg. $4297 on sale for $3652), but if you’re in the market for the comfiest couch of all time, this is it.
This room is stunning!
We’re looking at this exact sofa in Taft, cement right now and are wondering how the fabric itself as help up.
Any pilling?
I’m fearful of an awesome family room sofa that looks like it’s an old sweater in need of a shave.
No pilling at all. It has held up great!
I’m in the market! How has the light color held up? Is it easy to keep clean?
Thanks!
It has held up really well! We don’t eat on it, which certainly helps. And our dog is not allowed up on it. Here’s a post I wrote about how we keep our light couches looking good: https://jonesdesigncompany.com/our-house/living-kids-light-couch/
We purchased the CB lounge grande sofa as we didn’t have room for the sectional. I couldn’t agree with you more about how comfortable it is! I love how our family of 4 and two large dogs can all hunker down for movie night. I ordered the navy fabric and have been pleased with how well it’s held up. I am not afraid to admit I also find it very comfortable to sleep on when the husband is snoring ;)
I love your array of pillows! Where did you find them? We’re looking to change our pillow game so I’ve been on the hunt for awhile now.
My favorite type of couch! One that you sit in, not on! So cozy. We got a sectional very similar to that about 4 years ago and love it. Plus, it was made in Oregon! If your readers are on a little tighter budget, we got ours custom ordered from Sansaco, a furniture warehouse in Tukwila for about $2500. You need to arrange your own pick-up though, but it was worth the savings for us!
SO glad to hear Sansaco is still around-! It’s a great furniture source- lots of options and reasonably priced! Thanks for sharing- I’m gonna make the trek now that I know they’re still around.
