We’re finishing out our summer with a quick stay with my family at The Farmhouse.
Isn’t it beautiful?! The Jones side of the family has rented this restored 1800’s farmhouse for the past three years and it’s been such a perfect place for our families to be together.

Being here reminds me of how much I love the look of a farmhouse. Just clicking through my pinterest boards confirms it. Here are a few of my favorties:
I’m particularly drawn to a classic white farmhouse with metal roof.
But a wood barn is also charming.
Black trimmed windows are an added bonus and give a farmhouse a more modern feel (which I’m particularly drawn to).
But what we love most about The Farmhouse and what is so appealing about these images is the open space, the views and greenery and endless sky.
When I think of a farmhouse, it feels like a deep breath, fresh and bright and simple.

this is so funny because i have a dream house pin board and almost all of these pics are on it! sean and i are secretly dreaming of getting a little bit of land and building modern farmhouse on it! your vacation house is amazing! i hope you found time to relax and soak up the last bits of summer!

We have a house that reminds me a lot of “the farmhouse” (I can’t believe how beautiful it is where you are!) but we currently have stucco siding that has to come down very soon. I am thinking of doing white board and batten instead. I love that look with a metal roof. This has inspired me!

I have posted several of these pictures as inspiration as well! We’re actually building a house very soon. I started out strictly looking at farmhouses but ended up swinging a bit more cottage/southern with farmhouse inspirations. Black/white front, etc. Love it all!!!

What a fun place to gather! I love the farmhouse inspiration. I’ve always especially loved the large proportions of farmhouse rooms. They seem more open and airy than the typical rooms in houses built in more recent years. I enjoy all your pinterest boards!
