Things I like: hooks

When I’m looking through the million blogs I read I save the photos that most catch my eye {as I’m sure many of you do}.  I call mine the ‘things I like’ folder.   It is fun to glance at the inspiring images and remember a project or an outfit or a decorating idea that I want to incorporate into my life.

So I think I’ll start a little segment on my blog called THINGS I LIKE and put these images to good use until I have the chance to copy them.

Today we’ll start with hooks.  In a mudroom/entry.

This one is my favorite image. I love the bench, the backdoor with window and roman shades. And the shoes perfectly lined up which is exactly how my kids place their shoes when they take them off.

Love those fisherman lights and dog prints.

This is an oldie from Cottage Living styled by Heather Chadduck who I think is a genius and I wish I could figure out where she is now. Those chunky hooks are great.

This is a really good idea using the full wall. I’ll probably steal this idea for our mudroom. And I love that covered drum shade ceiling fixture. I’ll be copying that one too.

And for hooks, here are a few fun options:

    1. I’ve been obsessed with hooks lately. I had my husband build me a shelf/hook system in our tiny mudroom. I used the first set of Anthropologie hooks you listed and LOVE them. (Also loving those fisherman lights a lot these days too). Great blog.

Happy birthday to your sweet girl! I am blessed with six daughters myself and they are truly a gift from the Lord!

    3. I too am obsessed with Heather Chadduck and Fran Keenan. I live in Birmingham and drove around endlessly looking for her house. I have now found both of their houses and they are beautiful! I love your blog – thanks for the inspiration!

    4. Hobby Lobby also carries beautiful hooks and matching cabinet hardware in wrought iron and aged bronze. If you shop their adds regularly, they often have them at 50% off. (After the discount they are often as low as $1.28 each!)

    5. As I was scrolling down I thought, “I’ll bet she posts that Heather Chadduck photo!” I also love her style and replicated that shelf for my own entryway. It’s 10 feet long and one of my favorite projects ever.

    6. Hey there,

Just found your blog a week ago and I love it! Great minds thing alike, as I just posted a foyer update and made my own coat rack after seeing many of the same pics that are your blog as inspiration. I figured I could do it myself!

      Keep up the good work,
      Karen

    7. Heather Chadduck is my fave as well. Everything she does is flawless. I see you already have the answer to her whereabouts so I won’t add that. So glad we can still enjoy her work! She really needs her own book!

    8. i love all of these–i’m a little obsessed with the new mudroom design and classic hooks myself!
by the way, heather chadduck is now with coastal living–and she’s just as fabulous as her cottage living days!

    9. Hi Emily!
I love that Heather Chadduck picture (and the whole room she did in that issue) too. She is at Coastal Living…I liked Fran Keenan too, but can’t find her post-Cottage Living.
