spring essentials (freebie art print)

Well, it’s still raining daily up here in the Pacific Northwest and I know elsewhere around the country fresh snow covers the ground, but I’ve seen tiny buds on blossoming cherry trees, heard the first chirp of a bird and have the itch to give our house a big wipe down. This could only mean one thing: Spring is coming.

To get us in the mood for all things floral and bright, new and – ahhh – spring-y, I compiled a few of my favorite spring essentials into a new watercolor painting.

I scanned the original painting, added titles and turned it into a printable pdf for your enjoyment (I’ll show you how I did it on wednesday). It’s a fun piece to put out this spring (maybe on your entry table? Or on your mantle?) or to give a friend who loves springtime and all the beauty it holds.

  1. I have had a horrendously busy last two weeks and didn’t get in on the sale…but will be watching for the next one. However, the main reason I wanted to email you was to simply say, “Thank You” for sharing your God given talent with us. Due to the fact that I have NOT ONE hint of artistic ability, I so admire and appreciate the art of others and your style is just my style! The Spring Essentials print is fresh, fun and like the old expression, is definitely a “breath of fresh air” for my home. I also loved your tip about using watercolor paper. I have seen that at my local craft store, but really didn’t know what I would use it for. I’m also going to download & print a copy for a friend of mine. She will love it! Thank you, again for sharing. Proverbs 11:25 says, “The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters (some translations say, refresh) will himself be watered (or refreshed).”

  2. Our printer is not the greatest…colors don’t come out very well, and I would prefer better quality prints. Do you have any recommendations for places to get your printables printed? Whether online or local (we’re in Tacoma)? Thank you!

  3. Emily did you make the paper flowers in your photos? They are lovely! Would love a tutorial on those if you haven’t done one already.

  4. I’m so excited!!! I have the other three printed out and framed, ready to go on my new gallery wall. I was just waiting for this one to complete the set! When I get them on the wall I’ll have to share a photo. Thanks so much!!

  5. So beautiful. Your work is stunning, and my kitchen is a happier place for having your gorgeous seasonal prints in a frame. Love them.

Thank you so much for sharing them.

  6. Thank you sooo much, so excited to display this…and thanks for all your free downloads! I have my little spot I put these and the kids and my kids friends always like to come look at what things you’ve picked for the season :) Thanks again!

  7. Yay! I am so glad you did a Spring one too. I have been collecting them and I print them out and display them every time you bring them out as well. You are so talented! Thank you so much for sharing these – they brighten me up every time I look at them.

  8. I am obsessed with these watercolor paintings!! I went crazy when you first did the summer painting. Then you continued on with autumn (my fav) and winter. I was so hoping you would do a spring painting and when I read you were I did a wild fist pump in the air! Woohoo! I too keep them on my table in the foyer. Thank you so much for sharing your talent! Love your blog, paper works, and your shop!

  9. I love them all lined up in a row! I’m putting mine on the wall to my closet since they seem to be geared toward us ladies. I’m sure you don’t need more work to do, and I really appreciate all the freebies you do offer us, but I was wondering if you might consider an “essentials” series this year that includes the guys in our life, or families? That would be really fun :) Thanks for everything you share!!

  10. Adorable print! Just what I needed on this cold and snowy day. Now I need to find a spot for it. You are so talented, thanks for the inspiration!

  11. So glad to hear you’re going to share how you did it! I’ve been trying to scan watercolors for a while and work with them digitally and my brain just can’t figure it out!
