what I bought at the nordstrom anniversary sale

Every summer when the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog came out, my sisters and I would spend hours looking at all the clothes, circling what we hoped for. Then on day-one, my mom and us girls met our aunt, grandma and cousins for a day of chaotic shopping for a few back to school things. Shoes, stretch pants, sweater vests, anything by Esprit (I got a whole cherry ensemble one year that I adored – which included socks, skirt, shirt, jacket and a bandana. #espritoverkill).  ‘Twas a fun tradition.

Since becoming a grown up and moving to the country where the closest Nordstrom is 45 minutes away, and with the very convenient addition of online shopping, I no longer brave the crowds at the Nordstrom Sale. Schlepping my non-shopping kids to a busy mall just doesn’t sound appealing, so instead I took a few minutes this afternoon to browse and buy from the comfort of my couch.

    Here’s what I bought:

    in-my-shopping-bag

Roll Sleeve Swiss Dot Cotton Shirt / Space Dye Tunic Sweatshirt / Scoop Neck Long Sleeve Tee / Zip Detail Pullover Sweater / Toms Desert Wedge Bootie / Open Front Hooded Cardigan

Because I just can’t help it, I stuck with my regular blue/gray/white/brown shoe combo. No surprise there.

Are you a Nordstrom Sale shopper? Find anything great?

    P.S. happy weekend!

    1. The Mr. bought me the same Tom’s wedges for Christmas, and they’re some of my absolute faves! Extremely comfortable, and the perfect neutral to pair with everything!

    2. I’m laughing because I ordered everything here but the zip pullover sweater when pre-sale started last week! Clearly, I like your taste! For any shorter readers, the space dye tunic is great (so soft AND covers bum weddings!) and getting it in petite made all the difference proportion-wise for me (5’2″). I’m excited to try on the open front hooded cardigan – mine hasn’t arrived yet. Think it could be one of those pieces I reach for a little too often this fall. :)

    3. Yes, I shopped the sale! First, I love your choices. I selected some fabulous Vince Camuto boyfriend trousers in silt green….I just love the color. Then I found a wrap dress in POP red with a black maxi cardigan to go over it…such a great look…well at least on the models. Fun post!

    4. Now this is a post straight at my heart! ? the girls in my family take a trip to Portland every year for a weekend of shopping without kids (except the brand new babies) or husbands!, and we try to line it up with the anniversary sale. This year we are missing it but I love that space die tunic in every color! Really cute!

    5. You are going to love the Toms booties! I’ve worn them for two years in a row now and they are comfy as ever :) I love your choices – and the polka dot shirt is lovely! Just found out you are a fellow PNW blogger ;) I’m in the Sammamish area. Cheers!
