Welcome! I’m happy you stopped by! Today I’m joining up with Gina from The Shabby Creek Cottage and her Summer Tour of Homes.
Over the last few days I have transitioned our home’s decor to be a bit more summery. What this basically means is that I have switched out pillows, added plants and flowers and rotated art. One of the best parts of having a very neutral foundation (like our sofa, chairs, wall colors, etc) is that decorating seasonally doesn’t require a whole lot. I love shopping our home – borrowing curtains from the play room, art work from the bathroom, and recovering down pillow inserts with an inexpensive shower curtain – to make little changes that give our house a cheerful summertime feel.
Have a peek around!

Thanks for coming over!
I love your home! I am struggling to make my home look more grown up at the moment! I am in my mid 30s and finally finding that the way I “decorate” is not what I actually like! I have too many bright colors and mis match patterns. I have 3 litttle one so I keel telling myself it is just the season I am in. But I want to move to my home to the next season but keep my babies little forever! Me and my silly emotions!
Many blessings
Courtney
Hi Emily- I have been on the hunt for a faux deer head and keep coming back to yours because the scale seems accurate for where I would like to place it. Can you share where you got yours?
Thank you-
Amy
The deer head is from Restoration Hardware.
Hi, we are planning a kitchen with the stove in the island and I was wondering how deep your granite countertop is. We were thinking about 40″ since the stove is about 24″ deep it would leave about 16″. Trying to make sure it is enough room for someone to eat at, fitting a plate and glass without being too close to the heat.
Your stuff is amazing.

Hi Emily! I’ve always loved your blog. I love/adore your prints/artwork, your handwriting, your mad skills in the decorating department, and most of all your love for Jesus. You are so creative! I LOVE your paper and postcard(?) racks that you usually have in or around your office. Could you tell me where I can get my hands on those? Thanks :)
I am so sorry I bothered you. Please disregard my last email. I found the information I needed under your sources category. Thank you again.
Not a bother at all! Glad you found the source.
You have done a marvelous job on decorating your home. I especially love your attention to detail. I have one request of you. Would you please tell me where I can purchase the deer/elk head mount above your fireplace. Thank you, and keep creating. I am certain you are an inspiration to many.
I adore your black table & white chairs!!! Where can I find them? So classy!
Question answered! Ikea! Thanks anyway!
Hi, Emily! Your home is beautiful. Did you make the curtains yourself? If so, can you provide any deets on the process. Thanks for all you do and share with us!
Most of the curtains in our home came from IKEA.
Just wondering if you could share where you purchased the white frame for the ranunculus watercolor and also the chalkboard you have in your kitchen. Thanks!
The white frame is from IKEA and the chalkboard was a diy found here: https://jonesdesigncompany.com/create/simple-diy-chalkboard/
you have done such an amazing job making your home *yours*! I have been following your blog for awhile and actually have a question about your kitchen… do you have a downdraft range? we are remodeling our kitchen and in the process moving the range to the island sort of like you have, but i don’t know what to do about venting the range. a big ceiling mounted hood would clutter the nice ‘open floorplan’ we are going for, but i’ve only found one downdraft range and it received horrible reviews. let me know your thoughts! thanks so much! I’m going to take your graphic design mini class one of these days, too! too busy with work right now, but i’ll find the time someday! cheers!
I know you’ve probably answered this before but where are the canisters (glass ones with lids) in your kitchen from? I’ve been looking for some for my kitchen but haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for yet. Thanks!
Do you have the paint colors of your walls posted in the blog anywhere? Love the neutral tan
I do! Here is the link: https://jonesdesigncompany.com/paint-colors/
Beautiful. Your home is amazing. I love the gallery wall. I want to do one. Someday!
I love your new summery look. I’ll have to hang around and see the other seasons!
I’ve really enjoyed visiting. I’ll be back!
Have a wonderful Saturday,
Sherry
Emily, I appreciate the lovely thank you cards you made available to me. As a missionary I easily write 200 thank yous a year and am always running out of cards. Thanks so much!
What does the top of your chalk board wall say?
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, your house! Where are your beautiful poke-dot curtains from? Everything is gorgeous!
Thank you! The polka dot curtains are from IKEA.
where is the floral canvas from in your dining room? thanks!
It is from World Market. I purchased it last september and it looks like it is no longer available. Here is the expired link: http://www.worldmarket.com/product/%22unexpected%22+by+leila.do?camp=Aff:27795:135825:IR&utm_campaign=135825:IR&utm_source=27795&utm_medium=affiliate
I don’t have ANY talent for decorating a house (as evidenced by the fact that we just have random posters thumb tacked to our older son’s bedroom walls, which would make HGTV hosts fall over from strokes), so it has been so fun to pop into everyone’s summer tour of homes here. I just had to say that your house is ADORABLE!! And if you’re ever seriously bored… please feel free to drive yourself on over to my house, and we can remedy the thumb tack situation together. And by “together,” I really mean YOU can remedy the problem and redecorate, while I fetch you coffee from Starbucks, and sit close to you and talk your ear off while you work your decorating magic at my house!
So pretty!! Love the bar stools, look like my dining room chairs from Industry West! You have a great eye, well done!
Your home is so beautiful! You inspire me. I am curious about the blue hydrangeas(?) print on the wall above the side table between lamp and fern. Can you tell me more about it? Thank you!
The print on my book page wall is from an etsy shop called UnitedThread. It doesn’t look like it’s in her shop right now, but you could probably ask her if she still has the print: https://www.etsy.com/shop/unitedthread?ref=l2-shopheader-name
Love your home decor!!! I noticed that on one wall it looks like you have old book pages that you used for accent. Is there a certain way you put them up on the wall? I just love the idea. Thanks
Thank you! Yes, I taped those pages up seven years ago and they are still there! I just used double sided tape. It will be TERRIBLE to remove them because the pages are thin and the tape is very sticky, but we’ll deal with it when the time comes!
Love the house and blog! What is the paint color in the kitchen?
The top portion of the kitchen is Texas Leather by benjamin moore. Here is a page with all of our house colors: https://jonesdesigncompany.com/paint-colors/
Emily always love your home. Can you tell me something about that black dresser in your office. I love it. Thanks
Your home is beautiful!
I just LOVE your home! And I am in AWE of your pillow collection.. so beautiful!
Emily, everything looks so fabulous and I want to move in! :) Just wondering where you found the artwork in your dining area and on the dresser. Love them!
Just saw your post about the 5 most asked questions! World Market… awesome. What about the other one on the dresser? :)
The one on the dresser is from https://www.etsy.com/listing/71632859/pictures-of-flowers-ranunculus although it doesn’t look like she has it available in her shop right now.
My apologies! I stopped selling that size of my work back in September. A current link is here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/169732722/luxury-gift-large-photograph-ranunculus
Thank you for the correct link!
Beautiful! Would love to know where the black and white stripe pitchers are from in your kitchen.
I made them! Sort of :) They are white and I added stripes with tape. A close up post to follow!
Awesome! DIY is even better. ;)
What is the source for the beautiful print in your entry? Love the colors!
The ranunculus print is from here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/71632859/pictures-of-flowers-ranunculus
I LOVE the polka dot window treatments and the kitchen island. Beautiful
Thank you!
Where did you get the Mason Jar floral print in your dining room? I love it! You’re so talented you probably painted it!
Ohhh your spaces are gorgeous! The black accents make so many things pop! Gorgeous tour!
Thanks Donna!
Beautiful home, Emily, as always! I love your floral art! It brings such a beautiful punch of color!
Smiling because of your comment about it not being ready yesterday :). It looks so great! I want to do more easy seasonal switches with pillows and the like.
gorgeous home. one of my favorites ever. primarily because i know all those precious people who plop down on the couch & throw the doggy toy in the basket and color at the kitchen table. xo
You’ve seen it in it’s real life state :)
