Today I’m hoping on the Blogger Stylin Christmas Home Tours hosted by Lindsay at White Buffalo Styling Co. Normally, I would show my own home (like I did last year and the year before that) but we just found out that Better Homes & Gardens Christmas Ideas Magazine will be coming in January to shoot photos for next year’s publication (so fun!) and so I can’t share our christmas house with you on the blog this year. Truthfully, this arrangement works in my favor because I’m dragging my feet getting our house decorated. I’m hoping all of these amazing homes on tour will stir up some inspiration.
Instead of showing our home, I asked my friend Erica if I could come take pictures of her cute new house. We met Erica and her husband Scott at college, they were in our wedding and even though we don’t get together often (they live about 45 minutes away), its one of those friendships where we just pick up where we left off. Their family just moved to this darling house on an island with the Puget Sound for a front yard. Even on the cloudiest days, it is still so beautiful to look outside and see the water and she’s found that she doesn’t need a lot of decorations with a view of nature out every window. Her house looks simple and classic all dressed for Christmas and I’m excited to show you!
Isn’t it great?! I love how bright and open the space feels, but still cozy and christmasy.

I’m pretty sure they are made – just covered with linen and stamped with titles!

Stunningly beautiful and family comfortable are the words I felt looking at the rooms of this house! Not sure how I got this email, but sure glad I did! Would love to get them on a regular basis.
Beautiful home and decorations. Love all the windows and light. And I really love I also love those paper trees on the coffee table. They appear to be made from bookpages. Can you provide any information on the trees? Maybe a tutorial or just a close-up photo? Thanks so much!
This house is so simple, classic, and beautiful it made me smile to look at it.
What an amazing decorator — your friend needs to start her own blog! Can’t wait to see your house in the magazine!
Love it all, especially your tree!

Emily, I love her house! And I love those “NOEL” letters! Always a pleasure having you on the tours!
I have been following you blog for quite some time. I love your style. I always kind of wondered if you knew any of my relatives in WA. You just seemed like their type and to my surprise you do. Eric is my husbands cousin. I also have relatives in Enumclaw. Small world. Erica’s house looks fabulous!
What a small world!
I, too, am in love with the Christmas tree. WOW!! Is it real or artificial? Do you know any details on it? Gorgeous home!
Merry Christmas!
Her tree is real – a douglas fir. Isn’t it decorated beautifully, too?!
Love the house! Your house looks so beautiful and cozy Erica! I really like those big pom-poms. I might have to make some ;) I also love those paper trees on the coffee table! Are they handmade? If so, I would love for you to post the materials used to do it. This gave me great inspiration to add a few things to my home <3 Thanks for sharing your friend's home Emily!
I absolutely adore your tree. But everything else is gorgeous too. Merry Christmas
