let’s not fail before february

With the beginning of the year comes a burst of motivation to put our households in order. We want to simplify belongings and freshen up our spaces, but also long for a painless way to do the tedious, yet necessary things like scheduling a million activities, planning meals and assigning {and keeping track of} chores.

I’ll be the first to admit that running a ship-shape household is not my strong suit. There are some women who have labeled bins and jars and folders for everything and they inspire me. They have tips and systems that work for them and I wish they would work for me, but it always feels like too much effort and I fail by February.

In an effort to simplify the system, to make the mundane meaningful and to bring beauty to the everyday, I’m happy to introduce our new monthly membership that will keep you and your family organized.
For the past three years, we’ve offered JDC | Monthly – a system for organization that has been a big success. But, there were some issues. The software we used was frustrating, there was not a convenient way for members to access previous monthly collections and our international readers were not able to sign up. Continuing with a product that was not simple to use went totally against the purpose of it and so right before Christmas, we discontinued it. We’ve been wanting to update for quite a while, adding new features and using a system that makes sense and after much research and lots of tweaking, Paper Works is here.

We took the best of JDC|Monthly, gave it a fresh look, added new items and features along with an updated system to help you turn necessary paperwork into an enjoyable task.

Instead of having to wait for an email with each new month (that all too often ended up in a spam folder – ugh!), you can now log in to your personal jones design company account to access your new monthly collection.

You will have a simple way to find the past months as all of the links will remain on your individual account page for as long as you are an active member – no more need to bookmark the pages or save the files to your computer.

You can update your credit card information, address, status and more from an easy to use secure account page.

If you don’t love your handwriting, or you find typing to be an easier way to fill in events, chores and meals, you can now edit straight on the pdf. Simply type in your details before printing for a totally customizable option.

If you prefer the convenience of a professionally printed and pre-cut bundle, Paper Works Printed Version is the perfect option for you. An envelope with a month’s worth of papergoods will arrive on your doorstep {or mailbox} ready for you to get started with.

Print + pdf members also have full access to all the monthly digital files to make extra printing and gift giving possible.

The new Paper Works membership is available for just a few days at a special introductory rate of $7.99. Sign up before January 10th to lock in your subscription at this discounted price!

Set yourself up for organizational success – simple, convenient and stylish designs make all the difference.

I think we’ll make it way past february this year.

Can you tell me how to reach someone about a digital file I ordered on December 2nd but never received (order #1662)? I’ve tried the “contact us” form on the website, but I haven’t gotten any response and I can’t find any other way of reaching JDC. Thanks for your help!

Hi, Emily! I am so excited about this! I’ve always wanted to subscribe to JDC monthly but don’t have a great printer. I think your print + option is amazing. It’s more than we can afford on a monthly basis (although I think your pricing is very reasonable). I am certainly adding it to my wish list!

    Hi Emily,
I’m a longtime subscriber to JDC Monthly and one of my favorite aspects was the monthly DIY projects and art prints.

Will that still be a part of Paper Works?

    Thanks,
    Lisa :)

The art print is still there as well as a few extra secret bonuses each month. I found that doing a project for jdc monthly took away from my creativity with posting to the blog, so expect more projects on the blog!

Hi Emily – I love everything about your new collection, but please tell me you haven’t stopped doing the bible verse cards!! Those were my favorite part of JDC Monthly.

    • emily January 6, 2014 at 1:44 pm #

The scripture cards are not part of the monthly collections but a new set of 52 cards is coming soon! It will be free for paper works members and for sale in the shop as well.

Is this $7.99 each month or a one time fee? If it is a monthly fee, can I set up an easy pay program?
    Thank you
    Alicia

hello emily – is this now available for international clients?

  9. Anna K January 6, 2014 at 2:36 pm #

    Hi Emily!
I’m so excited about this. I’m an international subscriber and have been waiting for the opportunity to sign up. This is great! Now I don’t have an excuse anymore for failing my New Years resolution of being more organized :-)
Thank you and happy new year!

Do you have an introductory price for the print + pdf version as well? Love the product, just a little costly for my budget.

    • emily January 8, 2014 at 11:21 am #

I wish I could! I just need the price to absorb my costs and shipping is free!

    Emily,
Is the chore chart customizable? One area mentions customizing the chores, but there is no asterisk next to it on the list, so I wanted to check…it would be great if it were!
    Thanks!

This one is not – but I will make February’s customizable. It is a great idea.

Love it! Everything is beautiful! I love the extra digital backgrounds, new daily planner, and new daily menu sheets. So fun and functional! Thank you!

WOW….First of all, I love the name and logo!!! So cute, so you!!
Second, I love the idea of a fun package of goodies being delivered to my mailbox each month! Yay for happy mail!!!

Awhile ago (I’ve followed for some time so not exactly sure when) you posted about some of your favorite tools/items that you frequently use. I tried to find the post last week but it doesn’t appear to have the information any longer. I know you have mentioned the printer and paper that you use. I’m looking for that info again. We have a HP that is a pain because it won’t print anything if you are out of one of the colors, even if you want to print black and white. It uses a lot of ink for maintenance as well so I’m looking for a change! Thank you!

I will hopefully have a new page up soon! When we did the site re-design around Thanksgiving, that page was left behind and I just need to recreate. Soon!

  15. michelle January 8, 2014 at 8:34 pm #

I HATE my handwriting so the more of them that are customizable the better. For me it is the small notes and the shopping list that I would use frequently.

I just received my first printed monthly package and it is beautiful! Such a high quality product, thank you! If there were ever a motivator to get organized, this set of gorgeous papers is it!

I am also excited to hear you are going to have a new option coming for the scripture cards because I really miss those. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

    Emily-
Is the $7.99 the permanent price if we subscribe during the introductory period or does the price increase after the first month?

    • emily January 10, 2014 at 10:16 am #

Yes! It will stay at $7.99 per month. Starting tomorrow, the price goes up to $9.99.

  18. Melynda January 15, 2014 at 7:31 am #

    Hi,
I blew it on the intro price due to work and life, but also hesitation. nervous that the product might duplicate e-tools I own but just ought to use better rather than spend on cuter ones! how does the 7 day trial work w/ your billing cycle? Should I wait til end of January, so then the purchased month would start with February? Thx too though, for your great blog and Christ centered encouragement!

  19. Jill January 15, 2014 at 5:04 pm #

When do you anticipate selling the Feb. monthly paper version? Don’t want to miss out this time!!

    • emily January 16, 2014 at 11:55 pm #

The february collection will be available on January 25th!

  20. Mary January 18, 2014 at 1:28 pm #

I am enjoying most all of the January collection and appreciate the special price you gave us, Emily.

One question I have. I know there will be some months when I’ll wish I could have them pre-printed. Would I be able to switch back and forth by paying more one month then going back to printing my own the next month?

    • emily January 19, 2014 at 2:21 pm #

That is a great idea, but I’m not sure if I could keep it straight logistically! I’ll see what I can do …
